United Virginia and its volunteer organization serve the public interest as catalysts of a movement to improve the health and well being of Virginia's under-resourced individuals and communities, both urban and rural.

Empowerment: As essential players in the fulfillment of United Virginia's economic development mission, participants in our microenterprise development program are encouraged to become involved in shaping the future and growing the community-sustained, volunteer-powered microenterprise movement in Virginia.

Volunteering: Community service is the heart of our organization and we actively support local, state and national volunteer opportunities of all kinds, especially actions focused on improving the financial well-being of under-resourced Virginians. The opportunities are endless and include traditional community service, as well as management opportunities in the microenteprise movement or microenterprises themselves, supporting access to financial, human, and social capital to grow businesses. Through recruitment and training efforts, United Virginia intends to inspire and support volunteer efforts to make a better and more prosperous Virginia.
